Legendary rapper Fatman Scoop — real name Isaac Freeman III — has reportedly passed away at the age of 53, his official Instagram account has revealed.

Fatman Scoop’s Passing Is Revealed
On Saturday, August 31, a message was shared via Scoop’s official Instagram account revealing the “passing of the legendary and iconic” rapper.
The message went on to say, “Last night, the world lost a radiant soul, a beacon of light on the stage and real life.”
“Fatman Scoop was not just a world class performer, he was a father, a brother, uncle, and a friend,” the message continued. “He was the laughter in our lives, a constant source of support, unwavering strength, and courage.”
The announcement credited Scoop as the “undisputed voice of the club.” Furthermore, the message concluded that Scoop will be mourned. However, also noted that he will be celebrated for “his remarkable life and the countless lives he touched.”
“Fatman Scoop’s legacy is of love and brightness, it will reside in our heats and memories forever,” the message stated.
According to TMZ, Fatman Scoop’s tour manager “Pure Cold” also confirmed the rapper’s passing with a message shared via his Instagram account on Saturday, August 31.

According to the outlet, Scoop was performing at Town Center Park in Hamden, Connecticut, on Friday, August 30. During his performance, when he appeared to suffer a medical emergency on stage.
At the time, it was reported that the 53-year-old had been transported to a local hospital.
