Master P, Lil Wayne’s Manager React To Super Bowl Headliner

Kendrick Lamar is taking his talents to the Super Bowl stage in New Orleans in February. Less than 24 hours after the official announcements, folks online are still celebrating and debating the choice. Master P and Lil Wayne‘s manager and longtime engineer, Fabian Marasciullo, are two of the hundreds speaking out about the Halftime Show headliner.

Master P Says Lil Wayne Should Be Included In The Super Bowl Halftime Show

On Sunday (Sept. 8), Master P took to his Instagram feed with a message about the NFL and Apple Music tapping Kendrick to perform. He congratulated the Compton rapper before explaining why he thinks Lil Wayne should also be involved.

“Salute to @kendricklamar for performing at the halftime show at Super Bowl LIX.. well deserved, he’s one of the hottest music artists in the world and has one of the biggest songs right now,” Master P wrote, referencing the Drake diss track, ‘Not Like Us.’

Furthermore, the producer and rapper said he agreed with fans who are advocating for Wayne to perform. Tunechi is a New Orleans native.

“As Ambassador of Entertainment in the City of New Orleans, I have to agree with the fans that @liltunechi #LilWayne should be a part of this celebration as well. He’s one of the greatest Hop Hop artists alive, still relevant and he’s a New Orleans native. Let’s not miss this cultural moment in the South. Life is too short! We have to give our legends their flowers while they are here,” P wrote, tagging the NFL, Jay-Z, and New Orleans Mayor LaToya Cantrell.

Lil Wayne’s Engineer Shares His Disappointment Amid Headliner Announcement

Unlike Master P, Lil Wayne’s manager and engineer didn’t explicitly mention Kendrick Lamar. However, Fabian Marasciullo shared a cryptic message on his Instagram Stories shortly after Kendrick Lamar’s announcement as the 2025 Super Bowl headliner.

In a screenshot obtained by The Shade Room, Fabian wrote that he felt confused, disappointed, and angry. But most of all, he felt “inspired.”

“Will never again be in a position or have the [goat emoticon] in a position where we are at the mercy of someone else’s decision. We will make the decisions,” Fabian wrote.

As previously reported, this is Lamar’s second time performing in a Super Bowl Halftime Show but his first as a headliner. He previously performed when Dr. Dre headlined in 2022.

The occasion also marks the second time ever that a rapper will be leading the 12 to 15-minute annual performance. His creative agency, pgLang, will be handling the creative direction of the show. There’s no word yet on whether Kendrick Lamar plans to bring out any guests, particularly Lil Wayne. However, in a statement Billboard cited, Lamar assured fans he was the right choice for the 2025 event.

“Rap music is still the most impactful genre to date,” K. Dot said. “And I’ll be there to remind the world why. They got the right one.”
