Ohio Man Charged With Stabbing His Parents After Argument


Authorities have accused an Ohio man of killing his mother and critically injuring his father during an argument. PEOPLE reports that authorities charged 40-year-old Kenneth Mortimer with murder and assault for allegedly attacking his parents.

Son’s Brutal Attack On Parents

The outlet revealed that on Friday, August 9, just before 4 p.m., officers responded to a report of a stabbing at a Green Township home.

They later found two victims with stab wounds upon arrival.

WCPO confirmed Kenneth’s 75-year-old mother, Barbara Mortimer and his unnamed 75-year-old father as the victims.

Officials found Barbara Mortimer dead at the scene, while Kenneth’s father went to the hospital with serious injuries.

Cincinnati.com revealed that Kenneth Mortimer stabbed his parents during an argument, according to an investigation.

Court documents state that Barbara Mortimer told her son he couldn’t stay the night at their home, leading to a physical altercation after she asked her husband to call psychiatric services.

According to WCPO, court documents reveal that Kenneth Mortimer grabbed a knife from the kitchen and then stabbed his parents as they sat on the couch.

Kenneth dragged his mother back inside and stabbed her multiple times after she tried to escape.

Kenneth fled the scene in a vehicle, but police quickly located and arrested him.

What’s Next For The Ohio Man?

WCPO confirmed that Kenneth Mortimer admitted to stabbing both of his parents after police transported him to the Green Township Police Department.

PEOPLE reports that online jail records show Kenneth is currently held on a $2 million cash bond. He is currently at the Hamilton County Jail and will report to the grand jury on Tuesday, August 20.

It’s unclear whether he has entered a plea or retained an attorney.
