Angel Reese Fined For Missing Post-Game Interviews
The rookie player received a $1,000 fine for failing to take questions after her 71-70 loss to the Fever. As previously reported by The Shade Room, the Chi Barbie earns $73,439 annually. However, she earns additional money via endorsement deals.
Additionally, the Chicago Sky has to cough up $5,000 for failing to make Reese comply with the post-game interview rule.
It is unknown why Angel refused to be interviewed. During the game, Chennedy Carter roughly shoulder-checked Caitlin, sending her to the ground. She received a flagrant 1 foul for the contact.
Angel reportedly jumped off the bench and applauded after Carter made the rough move. Later in the game, Reese got physical with Caitlin. Reese slung her arm, hitting Clark and knocking her to the ground. There was no foul called, to No. 22’s dismay.
Chennedy Responds To the Critics After Flagrant Foul
After the game, Chennedy refused to discuss the incident with reporters, stating, “I ain’t answering no Caitlin Clark questions.” She later took to Instagram to express that she didn’t care about social media criticizing her.
“I grew up with all brothers. All we did is fight and argue,” Carter wrote. “I love the hate more than the love what don’t yall understand. I’d rather you hate me [than] love me and I mean that on my dead aunt.”
As The Shade Room reported, the general manager for the Indiana Fever, Lin Dunn, believes Clark is a “target.” She took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to share her thoughts. “There’s a difference between tough defense and unnecessary‚ targeting actions!” she wrote. Dunn said the rough fouls “[need] to stop.”
However, Caitlin isn’t the only rookie taking blows. When Sky played the Connecticut Suns, Reese fell to the ground after Alyssa Thomas made contact with her neck. The LSU grad lay on the ground for a minute, dazed. Once she got up, she clutched her lower back.
During the post-game interview, Angel stated that she didn’t expect the vets to play nice with her.
