Whew! Roommates, it looks like Brittney Griner nearly came to blows with a rookie player in a recent game. The Phoenix Suns player was booted from the court on Sept. 17 after a confrontation with Los Angeles Sparks’ player Rickea Jackson.

Here’s What Happened Between Brittney Griner & Rickea Jackson
A circulating video shows Griner and Jackson standing near each other in the middle of a free throw by another Sparks player. Both players seemed to be physically brushing each other off with Griner standing in front of Jackson. Then, they turned to face each other and walked a few steps while exchanging words. It’s not clear what was said between the athletes, but it appears that Rickea Jackson attempted to push Brittney as she walked toward her.
Griner intercepted the push and appeared to rush Jackson, who began taking a few steps backward. Coaches and players immediately rushed in, and one person restrained Griner and led her off the court. Rickea continued to walk in the direction Griner went, but her teammates rushed in to hold her back. Still, Griner and Jackson continued to throw words across the court.
Ultimately, Brittney Griner and Rickea Jackson were benched from the game. The incident went down shortly before halftime, per PEOPLE.

An Update On Griner’s Life Off The Court
While she may be nearly tussling on the court, Griner is in the newborn stages of motherhood off of it. Brittney and her wife, Cherelle, welcomed their son Bash on July 8. Cherelle is a first-time parent, but Griner and her ex-wife Glory Johnson had twin girls in October 2015.
A few weeks after the birth of her son, Brittney said that the infant was “amazing” and admitted that her “whole phone has turned into him now.” The couple first announced their pregnancy in April.
