Faizon Love Calls Katt Williams “Overrated” In Resurfaced Video

A resurfaced clip of Faizon Love is circulating the internet as he brands Katt Williams an overrated comedian.

In a recent interview, Williams unleashed a brutal verbal assault on his fellow comedians as he called out everyone from Tiffany Haddish to Cedric The Entertainer and Kevin Hart.

His remarks during his conversation with Shannon Sharpe on the ‘Club Shay Shay’ podcast have since caused an enormous uproar among his peers on social media.

But as Hart and other comedians step forward to speak out against Williams’ comments about them, a video clip of Love admitting to finding ‘The Pimp Chronicles’ star overrated is getting a lot of attention.

The Art of Dialogue‘s YouTube page shared the four-minute clip on Thursday (January 4). The full interview was originally posted on their platform in February 2023.

When asked to elaborate on his answer as to why he finds Williams overrated, Love said that the firecracker comedian was “all mouth and no product.”

Aside from his comedy shows, Love argued that Williams lacked the resume to be considered one of the greatest comedians. While some comedians have diversified into TV and film, Love couldn’t remember a movie that had cast Williams in the last two decades.

“Where is he great at?” he questioned the interviewer. “Greatness is consistent.”

If Williams’ success rests on the achievements from over 20 years ago, Love states he would view that person as a one-trick pony. Additionally, the 55-year-old disagreed with the subsequent question regarding Williams’ career taking its direction due to his personal issues.

He mentioned several comedians like Richard Pryor, who, in 1980, during a suicide attempt while freebasing cocaine, set himself on fire. Yet, instead of dwelling on his past mistakes, Pryor did what most comedians do, turning his turmoil into comedy.

Katt Williams’ Legal Trouble

Williams has seen his personal life overshadow his career in the past couple of years, particularly in 2016, when he had multiple run-ins with the law.

On February 28 of that year, accusations arose that he stole cellphones from women in Atlanta, according to VIbe. The following month, authorities arrested him for threatening to kill his bodyguard, Corey Dixon, per WSB-TV.

He then engaged in a street fight with a teenager, who put Williams in a chokehold. People posted video footage of the incident all over the internet, per The Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

In April 2016, authorities arrested Williams again on accusations of throwing a salt shaker at a restaurant manager in East Point, Georgia. They booked him on a battery charge, per 11Alive. However, his problems were still not over after that.

Law enforcement officers arrested him on several other occasions, such as when he allegedly spat on a female hotel employee in July 2016. In September, they jailed him again for allegedly causing second-degree property damage, per The Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

In December 2016, he pleaded no contest to several charges stemming from the alleged assault on his bodyguard. The court ordered Williams to pay $7,500 in restitution and complete 100 hours of community service, per FOX 5 Atlanta.
