The Judge Rules On The Permanent Restraining Order Request
In court records obtained by The Shade Room’s Senior Editor Jadriena Solomon, Doja Cat’s mother, Deborah Elizabeth Sawyer, appeared for a hearing on January 31.
The records asserted that the hearing was held at 8:30 a.m. in Department Z of the Los Angeles Superior Court. Additionally, Judge Karen Moskowitz presided over the hearing.
According to court records, Judge Moskowitz granted Sawyer and Miles Dlamini the permanent restraining order against Raman Dalithando Dlamini. According to RadarOnline, Miles is Sawyer’s grandson and Raman’s 13-year-old son.
A Minute Order court filing indicates that Sawyer has been appointed as the legal guardian of Miles.
Furthermore, the restraining order will remain in place until midnight on January 31, 2029. Additionally, the order is to be enforced throughout the United States and prevent Raman from abusing, harassing, threatening, or having any contact with Sawyer and Miles.
Raman Dalithando Dlamini is instructed to stay 100 yards away from the pair, their home, job, vehicle, and school.
Despite the judge’s approval for Sawyer and her grandson, the restraining order indicates that Judge Moskowitz did not grant additional protection to Doja Cat.
Lastly, the Minute Order court filing indicates that Dlamini did not appear for the hearing. He will be given 30 days upon being served the court order to retrieve any belongings from his mother’s property while accompanied by a law official. He is also instructed to enroll in a battery intervention program by March 15.
Here’s What Doja Cat’s Mother Alleged The Singer’s Brother Did
As The Shade Room previously reported, Sawyer filed a request for a temporary restraining order against her son on January 12. At the time, she alleged Raman knocked Doja Cat’s teeth out and left her with cuts and bruises.
“In a very degrading and demeaning [manner]… [Raman has made Doja feel] unsafe and traumatized,” the filing reportedly read, per TMZ.
Additionally, Sawyer accused her son of being violent toward her “multiple times over the past year.”
“He has made so many comments that are so deeply hurtful and offensive that I feel I have had to block them from memory just to go on day after day,” she reportedly explained in her initial filing, per RadarOnline. “He uses these bullying tactics to manipulate me into giving him more money, more money [than] what is rational and reasonable. It puts additional stress on me to work so hard, and then he abuses me, and it’s hard for me to recover to complete my work tasks. The possibility of having a peaceful household to raise my grandson is completely compromised with this erratic behavior. There are many times [his son] does not want him to come over to the house.”
At the time, TMZ reported that this was not the first time Sawyer was granted a restraining order against her son.
Doja Cat’s Brother Responded To The Abuse Allegations
Shortly after news of Sawyer’s filing became public, Raman Dalithando Dlamini was spotted by paparazzi. In exclusive footage, he denied the abuse allegations. Additionally, he seemed to allege that he hadn’t seen Doja or his mother “in years.”
“There’s no story,” he told the paparazzi.
