According to USA Today, “days before the shooting,” Crooks wrote an “ominous warning” on the gaming platform Steam. According to the company’s official website, it is the “ultimate destination for playing, discussing, and creating games.”

“July 13 will be my premiere, watch as it unfolds,” Crooks reportedly posted on the platform.

In addition to posting those words, Crooks reportedly used his phone to search for “images of both President Joe Biden and Trump.” The outlet adds that Crooks also searched for “the FBI director, Christopher Wray; Attorney General Merrick Garland; and a member of the British royal family.”

Meanwhile, after searching Crooks’ laptop, the FBI discovered that the 20-year-old had reiterated his searches on Trump and Biden. Additionally, he allegedly looked up the dates for the Democratic National Convention.

Furthermore, Crooks also used his phone to search for the phrase: “major depressive disorder.”

To note, CNN adds that the content found on Crooks’ phone was not accompanied by “any threatening language or messages.” Additionally, his searches reportedly dated back to springtime earlier this year.
