Wiz Khalifa Reveals He Attends Son’s Conferences While High

Wiz Khalifa has recently sparked a conversation regarding his parenting style, particularly his attendance at his son Sebastian‘s parent-teacher conferences.

The rapper made the unexpected revelation during his appearance on the latest episode of the ‘Call Her Daddy’ podcast, released on Tuesday (January 9).

Wiz Khalifa Admits To Attending Parent-Teacher Conferences High

He admitted to attending these meetings while high, stating that it was not only his personal choice. It’s also something that the school administration and teachers have come to expect from him.

The podcast’s host, Alex Cooper, had quizzed Khalifa on whether he would show up to conference meetings stoned or not, per Page Six.

The 36-year-old reportedly didn’t hesitate to respond, saying, “Hell yeah. I’m pulling up stoned. They expect it. They know what’s up. It’s not like back in the day [where] you’re considered a bad parent if you smoke weed.”

Khalifa has always been vocal about his marijuana use and views it as an integral part of his creative process. And by the look of things, it’s proven to be just as effective when he’s engaging with educators on Sebastian’s school performance.

He elaborated on his answer, asserting that he wants his son’s teachers to connect with the “real me” and not the person they expect him to be.

“Why would I have to change who I am or act like I’m not that just for these places that I’m going to go? That’s not how I’m going to be living my life ever,” he explained per PEOPLE.

Furthermore, the potency of marijuana can often leave a lingering smell on people exposed to the recreational drug.

Khalifa thinks when his son goes to school, he likely smells of weed, too. But officials have never given him any issues about the use of marijuana around the 10-year-old. “I’m pretty sure my son smells like weed. I don’t know because I can’t smell it, but I’m pretty sure he smells like pot.”

In his defense, Khalifa maintains that his state of mind does not impair his ability to engage with the teachers or understand Sebastian’s progress and challenges.

He explained that being high does not deter him from being an involved and responsive parent during these conferences.

Co-Parenting With Amber Rose

Sebastian, whom Khalifa shares with Amber Rose, has often been the subject of the rapper’s public discussions and social media posts.

Their father-son bond is evident, and Khalifa frequently emphasizes his commitment to being an involved and present father.

His candid revelation comes just one week after Rose opened up about her and Khalifa’s journey in finding a balance to co-parent effectively.

“I think that me and Wiz are so, best friends now, that — we’re so far past being in love that I can say that now, right?” she said while appearing on The Tamron Hall Show, per HipHopDX. “It’s not like anything that we would circle back to or anything. We’re just friends and co-parents.”

Previously, Rose touched on her relationship with Wiz in a previous interview on the No Jumper podcast last year. At the time, she shared that she cried for “three years straight” after she and Khalifa split and filed for divorce, per Complex.

To note, the couple tied the knot back in July 2013. But by June 2016, their fairytale romance had run its course, leaving Rose devastated, she recalled.

In her recent interview, when Hall asked Rose about a remark she had made about crying for three years straight, Rose explained that the ‘Black & Yellow’ artist was the love of her life up to that point.

Then, Hall asked whether coming forward about the pain she endured from the breakup was healing. The socialite agreed.

“To your point, sometimes, celebrity or not, you have a friend that [says] ‘How did you do after the breakup?’ your friend will lie and say, ‘Girl, I’m over him. I’m good.’ So, it’s not just celebrities, people often hide their heart to protect their heart.”
